    If you think gotu kola can be a helpful natural treatment for ADHD, you can incorporate it in your child’s meals by putting fresh leaves on salads and soups. You can also give it to your child as a supplement. Gotu kola capsules are available in various strengths, although a recommended daily dosage for children has yet to be determined.

    Instead of giving pure gotu kola capsules, it might be more effective to give an herbal supplement instead. There are a number of herbal supplements for ADHD that combine several herbs known to be effective in treating the disorder. These herbs include ginseng, ginkgo biloba, skullcap, and passionflower. If you’d like to give an herbal supplement, make sure that these herbs are included and that the manufacturer is known to use pure, high-quality ingredients. One way to check for quality is to look for the GMP seal, which indicates the manufacturer has followed strict regulatory standards in the manufacture of vitamins and supplements. You can also inspect the ingredients label for any telltale fillers like gluten, sugar, starch, silica, and artificial coloring.

    While herbal remedies for ADHD are safer than prescribed medications, you should always ask the advice of a licensed health care practitioner before giving any natural treatments to your child. Allergic reactions and serious side effects are rare, but they do happen if your child has an unknown intolerance to a particular herb.
